Hi, and welcome to Kind Kids Toothbrushes. My name is Mel, I am a Mum of two gorgeous kids, and as a Mum, I always want what is best for them. I have always made an effort to do what is best for planet earth. As my family has grown, I too have grown more and more passionate about reducing my family’s impact on this planet.
It came time for us to ditch the generic plastic toothbrush and convert to a more eco-friendly option, bamboo was the only option that made sense.
However, finding a bamboo toothbrush for my kids proved to be really difficult.
We tried heaps of different brands and my kids never really liked any of them. It made teeth-brushing time a chore. Some had a chemical like taste, some were scratchy and left sores on their lips, most were too big for their small mouths, or had hard rigid bristles that damaged their teeth's enamel.
I thought, there has to be a better way. There has to be a better option for my children. I couldn't find one, so I created it. Kind Kids Toothbrushes.
100% Aussie owned and family operated. We source bamboo from select sustainable farms that are growing 100% renewable Moso bamboo and completely Panda safe.
The handles are home compostable (or you can pop them in your green waste bin) and the nylon bristles are vegan friendly, BPA free and easily removed for disposing. We ensure that no nasties are used in the production process, making our toothbrushes non-toxic.
All packaging is made from recycled materials and is easily recyclable.
Proceeds from profits will go to sanitation projects for those less fortunate than us and who may not be able to afford the luxury of a new toothbrush every three months. We also contribute to tree planting initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint. As well as donating toothbrushes to families in need.
I realise toothbrushes are a small part of our lives but plastic toothbrushes contribute 350 tonne of plastic to landfill annually here in Australia - this kind of makes us feel sick.
So, if we can reduce this number and get the whole of Australia to move to plastic free brushing, it will make a huge impact.
